Ministries In Action
The primary purpose of a church is being of service to the people who come to the church and to the communities in which we live. Below is a list of the various ministries that are up and running at the Cathedral.

Nursery Ministry – The nursery ministry provides foundational teaching in a nurturing and caring environment during Sunday services to babies and toddlers, ages 0 – 3 years old.
Children’s Ministry – For ages 4 – 11, the children’s ministry builds the framework of each child’s Christian character. The Word of God is communicated at each developmental age with fun and excitement.
Men of Covenant – A regular gathering of the men of the church to pray, study and serve as a group. This will create a unique opportunity to discuss and discover the tools for effective Manhood. Special emphasis will be given to allowing the older men to instruct and mentor the younger men.
Liturgical Dancers and Actors - This ministry is one of sight and movement. The Liturgical dancers and actors are believers whose responsibilities will be to provide other dimensions of expressing the message or relevant theme being taught by the Pastor. Similarly, this ministry will write and produce plays and musicals that will serve as an outreach vehicle in the community. This area of ministry will also be utilized to demonstrate, through one-act plays, the message of the hour.
Freedom in Recovery - A ministry that provides step-by-step restoration from physical and other addictions, through Christian group and individual mentorship's. All information is private and confidential.
Ushers Ministry – This ministry maintains order and unity during church services both in the facility and in the parking lot.
Setup-Break Down Ministry – A ministry of weekly service – this ministry sets up the sanctuary and other rooms for ministry each Sunday and Wednesday, as well as dismantles transports and stores the items for the following service of the week
Matthew 25 - This ministry will address the most basic of needs by providing food, shelter, clothing and comfort. This will include a caring visitation ministry to those who are restricted to home or prison.
Communion Ministry – A monthly ministry that prepares the elements and the table for communion to be distributed on the first Sunday of each month.
Youth Ministry - The vision for ministry in this age group will involve education and training for ministry. Through current youthful themes and methods, teenagers will be meaningfully engaged in ministering to their age group and others locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Angel Food Ministry - Food Distribution Ministry – Monthly distribution of affordable quality food for families on a budget.
Emancipator Monthly Newsletter - Statewide Quarterly Newspaper - This newsletter / magazine will be a publication that speaks to the issues that face our communities. It will publish editorial comments, practical and helpful tips and powerful messages that are relevant to the community at-large.
Kingdom Empowered Prison Ministry-This ministry visits the Adult Corrections Institute every Friday to bring the word of God to incarcerated men and women.
Divine Health & Wellness Ministry - Health, Nutrition & Fitness – This educational and informational ministry provides what is needed for each person to keep their temple of God at its optimal level. Information is supplied on a weekly basis as well as providing workshops and study group participation.
The UrbanTruth Book Store – A Christian bookstore that will service the needs of the Cathedral of Life partners and visitors as well as the community-at-large. The emphasis will be on ethnic selections in books and music.
Security Ministry – A ministry devoted to keeping order and providing safety for all attendees of The Cathedral of Life services.
Praise & Worship Team – A group of singers whose sole responsibility is to lead the congregation in Worship.
Musicians Ministry - Working closely with the Worship Leader and worship team, this ministry will play an important role in assisting the congregation in their worship experience
Information Station Ministry – A liaison between the administrative offices and the ministry leaders and volunteers. Most general information can be obtained at this station each week.
Practical Truth University – A series of four-week classes on a variety of topics, from Communication in Marriage to Biblical Principles for Success in Business. These sessions will be held mid-week evenings and are open to anyone interested in learning more. In addition, an annual conference with various inspiring speakers will be held to provide exposure to other themes.
Sight and Sound Ministry – The ministry provides all attendees a pleasing aesthetic and acoustical environment to aid in the delivery of the message in a clear and concise manner.
Ministry of Hospitality – Those involved in this ministry extend a warm and welcoming touch to the décor and / or the meal that is being served at special Cathedral events.
Product Development Ministry – Through the duplicating of audio and video tapes as well as CDs and DVDs, this ministry helps to distribute the weekly services to those outside of The Cathedral four walls.
Woman’s Ministry - A regular gathering of the women to pray together, study the scriptures and serve together as a group. This will create a unique support base that is necessary to answer the call to Womanhood.
Altar Ministry – The altar ministers provide prayer and support to those that respond to the altar calls given at the conclusion of each church service. They develop relationships with those that respond and keep contact with them through telephone calls, cards and letters.
The Angel’s Touch Visitation Ministry – This ministry, which is primarily operated out of the homes of members of The Cathedral, will visit the membership and their family and friends at home or miscellaneous facilities as well as send notes of encouragement to individuals and families who are in the midst of victories, struggles or sorrows.
